    34.3 For The 343 2022

September 11th, 2022 Firefighter Etan Blatt kept a new annual tradition alive by honoring the 343 FDNY firefighters that made the ultimate sacrifice on that same day 21 years ago. In 2022 he was determined to make this run bigger and better as well as beginning to raise money for the official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, The 34.3 Foundation which raises money to support families and firehouses directly affected by a line of duty death.

This year Etan was joined by firefighters Kelly Coyle, Kevin Schaaf and for the second year in a row his good friend Basil Donato. Also finishing the journey was Greg Kav who showed up morning of the run determined to get to the trade center with the guys. The run began at Skudin Surf in Long Beach where a moment of silence was observed for FF Jesse Gerhard and FF Timmy Klein who lost their lives in the line of duty this past year. At 8:46 a moment of silence was observed for the moment flight 11 struck the north tower of the world trade center.

    34.3 FOR THE 343 | 2021

34.3 For The 343 - September 11th 2021, FDNY Firefighter Etan Blatt honored the memory of the 343 FDNY firefighters that made the supreme sacrafice 20 years ago on September 11th 2001 by running 34.3 miles from Long Beach, NY to Ground Zero.
After receiving an outpouring of well wishes and congratulations, people were also looking to donate to the cause. This is what birthed the 34.3 Foundation. Now Etan is determined to continue honoring the memories of the fallen firefighters on every 9/11 while raising money for fallen firefighters families and firehouses. As we continue into the next 20 years after 9/11, The 34.3 Foundation also strives to keep awareness into the bravery and courage that took place in lower Manhattan on that day.
